Roberta "Jeanne" Sidnam

Roberta "Jeanne" Sidnam Charlotte Roberta "Jeanne" Sidnam, 87, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Jeanne was born February 15, 1926 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Carpenter) Bradley. She graduated high school before working with General Motors briefly, Montgomery Ward and Wellington Farms. Many in Charlotte will remember her and Sid, her husband, as owners of Sidnam's Aquarium. Jeanne always loved animals, and started the pet shop with a few fish tanks in her house before expanding into downtown Charlotte with everything from dogs to monkeys. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Irene "Sue" Sidnam; grandchildren Steve (Alicia) Courtright and Tammy Courtright, Lori Cady, Mary-Margaret (Jamie) Medler, and Aimee Powell; ten great-grandchildren; and close friends Scott (Debby) Clemence and Bradley (Sherry) Cook. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert "Sid" Sidnam in 1982, and her daughter Margaret Ann "Margie" in 1979. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Phil Hobson officiating.
