Ronald Eugene Haney

Ronald Eugene Haney Dimondale Passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, at the age 68. Ron was born on March 6, 1944 to Melvin and Jeanne (Curry) Haney in Lawrence, MI. Ron proudly served as a member of the US Army during Vietnam. He loved to stay very active; he was a licensed scuba diver and sky diver. Ron's passion for sky diving led him to become an instructor. Ron was a sheet metal journeyman for Local #7 for 30 years and for the past 7 years he worked as a driver for Dean Transportation. He was very grateful for the last 3 years he spent driving for the Beekman Center, over that time he became very close with the students and staff. Ron was also an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; step daughter, Lori; and 1 brother. Surviving Ron are his wife, Rita; children, Ronald, Tammy, Michael, Joshua (Katrina); step son, Russell (Stacie); 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 7 sisters; 5 brothers; and several nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 11:00 a.m. at the Lansing Seventh Day Adventist Church 5400 W. St. Joe Hwy. Lansing, MI.
