Rose Marie Fata

Rose Marie Fata Lansing Age 83, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Stoneleigh Residence, Hospice of Lansing. Born September 3, 1930 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late George and Helen (Jakubik) Kenyon. Rose was a homemaker, babysitter, worked for General Motors, and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She enjoyed her family and crocheting. In her early years she loved being with her husband, square dancing, traveling to West Virginia, and spending time at their cottage on Houghton Lake. Rose was a member of the Rosary makers at Immaculate Heart Church until she was no longer able to participate, but she continued to make rosaries, blankets, and hats for the church. Surviving are her children, Frank (Trish) Fata of Onondaga, Eugene (Karen) Fata of Charlotte, Michael (Debbie) Fata of Mason, Debra (Robert) Gilroy of Dimondale, John (Lori) Fata of Eaton Rapids; sister-in-laws, Josephine Solomon, Gladys Fata, Donna Fata, Carmela (Lewis) Ervin all of WV; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hellyer of KY; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceding Rose in death were her husband of 53 years, Frank Fata who died in 2002; infant daughter, Kathryn; brother, George (Alice) Kenyon; brother-in-laws, John Fata, Anthony Fata and sister-in-law, Rose Hellyer. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lansing. The family will receive friends at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service, with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM on Monday. Burial will follow services at Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing. A special thanks to Holt Senior Care and Rehab, and Stoneleigh Residence, Hospice of Lansing for her last days of care.
