William "Wayne" Miller

William "Wayne" Miller Mason Passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at age 87. Born August 26, 1926 to John and Myrtle Miller in Marion, Illinois. At 18 years old Wayne joined the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific and was in the first wave of the occupation troop into Japan. Wayne was a lifelong entrepreneur and inventor. He started Miller Products Company in south Lansing. He and a partner created and patented a burner and a pump for an oil burning furnace which was built by Home Furnace in Holland, MI. Wayne was an active member at South Church in Lansing for over 70 years where he ushered, was a trustee and helped with maintenance. Wayne enjoyed photography, collecting coins, flying planes, hunting and fishing. He was in a Model A club with his 1929 Model A. Preceding him in death were his wife, Ann Miller and his parents. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda (Roger) Taylor, Pam Miller; son, William (Gretel) Miller Jr.; grandchildren, Brooke Hershiser, Brice Hershiser, Rachel Taylor, Jesse Knapp, Erica Knapp, Derrick Coombs, Seth Coombs; great grandchildren, Merick Hershiser, Morgan Knapp as well as many nieces and nephews.
