I know that Dick not only taught many but he also gave us someone to emulate. As I grew up in the neighborhood, moved away and then returned with my two children, it was Dick and Lydia that helped me raise them. They guided me many times through some tough situations and all the time giving love. On the days when I did not want to mow my lawn, Dick would be mowing his, with hat and gloves on...sigh, I had to admit, I sure was not driven, but did so or feel totally embarrassed. lol Dick loved the fruits of his gardening, and kept Lydia busy with canning. However, I was also the recipient of many of his goodies, and to this very day, smile whenever I think of a good tomato. I have truly missed them since their move, and Nick can tell you that they mean and meant the world to me and my little family. God chose well when he made Dick, and he found Lydia. God Bless and thank you for sharing him with so many. Barb Soper (E.Lansing)

I remember your Dad well. Maybe because I started seeing his kind face from when I was in diapers. A very very good man. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

I had the honor to work with and under Richard Pfisters guidance for years at the Agricultural Engineering Department. He offered a wonderful blend of knowledge and friendship. He influenced my life's work. He was an excellent human being showing respect to all who interacted with him. His dedication to the safety profession resulted in deserved recognition from his peers and the agricultural community in Michigan. We have lost a true professional.
