Charles Ensign Obituary

Charles V. Ensign Mason Charles V. Ensign, age 86, died December 26, 2010 in Lansing, Michigan. He was born September 10, 1924, in Hicksville, OH, to Charles and Elizabeth (Sechrist) Ensign. Charles honorably served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He retired from Prudential Insurance Co; was a member of the American Legion Browne-Cavender Post #148; a member of the F & AM Masonic Lodge #70 where he was Worshipful Master; and was Worthy Patron of O.E.S. Mason Chapter #150. He attended Eden United Brethren Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy. Surviving are his wife, Verla; daughters, Deborah Pennington (Eddie), Doreen Olko (Robert), Diane Hart (Mark); step-children, Chris Cochrane (Nadia), Lisa Sotomayor (Michael), Rebecca Bowen (Len), Sandra Raunikar; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Hutchinson. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Road, Mason, MI with the Rev. Milan Maybee officiating. Interment in Hawley Cemetery, Mason, MI. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with Masonic service at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Masonic Temple F & AM #70, 840 E. Dear Verla.
We have heard the sad news that Charlie has passed away. We are so sorry and pray that he did not suffer. Our love and our prayers are with you and your family's. He was a wonderful man and we always enjoyed our times together here in Florida and in Lansing. He is now with our Heavenly Father, but he will be missed by all of us. Palm Bay has lost a great friend and neighbor.
