John Mohre Obituary

John David Mohre Harrisburg, NC Formerly of Lansing, age 42, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010. Born on September 14,1967 in Lansing Michigan to the late John L. Mohre, and to Joan Krug Mohre of Grand Ledge, MI. John was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. John was manager of Erie Insurance in Charlotte. John graduated from DeWitt High School and then was a graduate of Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, where he played college basketball. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Charlotte, coached H YA boys basketball for many years, and was a member of Kiwanis Club. Survived by: wife, Kelly Lundberg Mohre of the home; sons, Garrett Mohre and Johnathan Mohre; daughter, Justine Mohre all of the home; brother, Mark Mohre of Grand Blanc, MI; sister, Angie (Pat) Mohre Stefanick of Eagle, MI; grandmother, Irene Shaw Krug of Grand Ledge , MI. Also surviving are seven nephews and nieces. Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 24, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as celebrant. Interment will take place in Deepdale Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel and then again at the church one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Harrisburg Youth Association PO Box 100 Harrisburg, NC 28075 or to the American Cancer Society 6000 Fairview Drive Suite 200 Charlotte, NC 28210. I was so sad to hear of Johns passing. In school he was always so kind, gentle and quick to put a smile on everyone's face.

Its the night before the visitation, as i read all of your entries, i know the next two days will be the most difficult of my life. I have known John for most of my life as a neighbor, classmate and friend. I always looked forward to when he would return to Michigan and we could get together.

I knew John from working with Erie. He was always a wonderful, compasionate person and I will always remember that about him. He was wonderful to me during some very difficult times.
