Alfred Linn Obituary

Alfred Allan Linn Formerly of Lansing, age 92, died Friday, August 14, 2009 in Marlborough, Connecticut. Al was born July 10, 1917 in Sanborn, North Dakota, the son of Roman and Louise (Schultis) Linn. Al lived the majority of his life in the Lansing, Michigan area, and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cecilia (Potter) Linn, his daughter, Karen (Barney) Medve, and his sister, Mary (Leo) Kitson. He was a long-time, vigorous member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, and after graduating from Michigan State College served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II; he continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel. Al was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, a committed pro-life advocate, and a skilled wood carver. Above all else, he loved his family. Surviving Al are his sister, Patricia (Tom) Schulte; his children, Mary Kay (Jim) Sisson, Linda (Bill) Carefelle, Terry and wife Michelle Linn, Walter and wife Rhea Linn, Patti (Joe) Muldoon; and his grandchildren, Kristina Carefelle (fiance Todd Hooks), Paul Sisson (fiancee Rebecca Hart), Spencer Linn, Morgan Linn, Katie Muldoon, Alex Linn, Delaney Muldoon, Connor Linn, Olivia Linn, and Kyle Muldoon. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing 48823 with visitation from 10-11 a.m. in the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery immediately following.
