Annie Allan Obituary

Annie (Davidson) Allan Eaton Rapids Age 93, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, in Charlotte. Annie was born January 19, 1917 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter of John B. and Anne (Murphy) Davidson. She was a very active member of the Eaton Rapids Congregational Church to which she generously contributed, including the Alex and Annie Allan Memorial Bell. She also was a generous supporter of the Eaton Community Hospice and several Eaton Rapids charities including the Community Medical Center, the Historical Society and the Senior Center. She attended Cleary College of Business in Ypsilanti, MI where she met Alexander Allan who was attending Michigan Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) in October 1935, 75 years ago. They eloped and were married on December 27, 1938 then later were "officially" married on June 18, 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex to whom she was married for 65 years; during the last 14 years of Alex's life she was his devoted caregiver. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Christopher, John (Jack), William (Bill), and Alexander (Sandy) Davidson. She is survived by four children and their spouses: Dr. Christopher (Mary Ellen) Allan, Alexanne (Richard) Whitney, Julie (Jack) Lawler, and K.C. (Jeri) Allan; seven grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Allan, Roger (Wendi) Allan, Jessica (Chris) Boedeker, Amber (David) Stiles, Jaclyn Lawler, Bridget Allan, and Elizabeth Allan; four great grandchildren: Alex, Ashley, Kade and Julianna; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Sonja Seaks. Memorial celebration for Annie Allan will be Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Congregational Church 300 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to any of the above named charities.
