Barbara Bayes Obituary

Barbara Bayes Six Lakes Age 61, formerly of Charlotte, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 3, 2009 in Lansing, MI. She was born in Plainwell, MI., December 8, 1947, the daughter of James and Mary (Duffy) Moore. Barbara graduated from Hastings High School in 1966 and later attended the Patricia Stevens Finishing School in South Bend, IN., where she graduated in 1967. She worked for Eaton Intermediate School District and retired in 2005 after 20 years of service. Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at the Senior Citizen Home in Stanton. Barbara loved Avon and was a sales representative for many years. She loved to camp and enjoyed crafts. Barbara is survived by her children, Brian (Teresa) Ferguson of Grasslake, Kimberly (Tom) Thelen of Westphalia; stepchildren, Andy (Trina) Bayes of Olivet, Andrea (Rob) Jewett of Charlotte, Amber (Tim) Thelen of Westphalia; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Cathy (Dave) Hathaway and Mary Riggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Dick" Bayes; parents and a brother, Joe Duffy. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday October 7, 2009 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 515 S. Knight St. Eaton Rapids, with Father Bennett Constantine of St. Peter Catholic Church and Father Larry Delaney of St. Francis Retreat Center officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 3100 West Rd. My deepest sympathies and assurances of prayers for all of you. Dick and Barb were much loved at Christ the King Church in Howard City. Barb fought the good fight and she did it with the Lord. Now she is whole and at peace! I wish I could be with you today - will do so in spirit.
