Carl Fisher Obituary

Carl Lloyd Fisher Jr. Sumner Age 77, of Sumner, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Laurels of Fulton. Lloyd was born November 5, 1932 in Sumner, the son of Carl L. and Leah (Pugsley) Fisher Sr. He lived in Sumner all his life and farmed the family homestead until his retirement. He was a 1951 graduate of Alma High School and was married to Florence Ruth Hunt on March 23, 1952. Ruth passed away in 1998 and Lloyd married Delpha W. Daniels-Benson on October 20, 2000. He was a member of the Sumner Center Church of the Nazarene in Sumner, Michigan. He and his wife, Delpha, wintered in Clearwater, Florida for many years. He is survived by his wife, Delpha; three daughters, Carlene (Jim) McGill of Sumner, Debbie (Shaun) Clark of Gwinn and Elizabeth "Katie" Fisher - Dershem of St. Johns; his son, Carl L. (Jill) Fisher III of Brighton, Tennessee; a step daughter, Gail Benson - Bethell of Florida; two step sons, Glenn (Caroline) Benson of Florida and Gordon Benson of Washington; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a sister, Lavern Akin of North Carolina. Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, his parents, and his sister, Evelyn Bollinger. Memorial services for Lloyd will be held Sunday, September 5th at 2 p.m. at the Sumner Center Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Roger Mosey officiating. Interment will be in Sumner Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Friday, September 3rd from 6-9 p.m. at the family's home at 2071 N. Warner Rd., Sumner. The family requests that you bring a piece of wood to share in the bonfire celebrating his life. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Laurels of Fulton or the charity of your choice.
