Carmaleta Stanley Obituary

Carmaleta E. Stanley Lansing Age 101, passed away after a full and wonderful life on July 5, 2010 in Lansing, MI. She was born November 18, 1908 in Williamston, MI to Andy and Mary Watson. Carmaleta worked for the City of Lansing Assessor's Office, was a member of the White Shrine #61 of Houghton Lake, remained active in the Eastern Star and was an avid card player. Preceding her in death were her spouse, Otis in 1986; daughter, Donna Smith in 1961; brothers, Ira, Glen, Dick; and sisters, Alma and Mertle. Surviving are her son, Ramon (Doris) Stanley; their two children, Thomas (Maureen) Stanley and children Gabriel and Elena, Mary (Randy) Lovejoy and son Zachary; her son-in-law Paul (Lorie) Smith and their children Lynn (Mike), Kerry (Gary), Collette (Terry), Kris (Doug), John (Karen), Anne (Rick), Steve (Jane), Stephanie (Eric); 18 great-great grandchildren and 8 great-great-great grandchildren and special friend Ruth Price. Funeral services will be held noon, Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 until noon at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909. Carm and Oat were great friends of my grandparents, Herb and Al Hengsbach. I remember many times them visiting my grandparents and playing cards. Great people. I enjoyed their company.
