I am proud to say that Chuck was my friend. Over the last ten + years Chuck and I had many conversations as I would provide services to his home. In those years I saw a mellowing in Chuck and I came to understand how much he actually loved his late wife and his 14 children. I feel Chuck did not always know how to express how much he loved his family. (Not unusual for a man of his generation) However, later in life he knew of the importance of family and friends and he made efforts to let his family know how he felt.
He often spoke about his days in journalism. We also talked politics and we found ourselves standing on the same political platform. When my daughter was looking into Universities we talked about Michigan and his love for the school. I was proud of Renee being accepted to Michigan and her Graduation from U of M in the spring of 2010.
Chuck will be missed by many people. My family wishes the Fisher / Charette family the best.

Oh, Mr Fisher, you will be greatly missed! You always made me smile when you came into see Dr. Lonier, even on your crabby days when you didn't know why you were still around. God had a plan for you! I loved giving you a hard time about being a UofM fan! Of all the days for you to be gone, I would think you would have been stubborn enough to wait to see the "big game". I will miss you and thanks for sharing the story of your family with me! GO GREEN!! ;-)
