Charles Henderson Obituary

Charles L. "Chuck" Henderson Dimondale Our loving father, husband, brother and friend passed away at the age of 59, after a long-courageous battle with liver failure. Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow to you and your family. May you find comfort during this difficult time. What moves through you is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, you may not understand why your dad/Chuck left this earth when he did, or why he left before you were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, you begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived. And that his life gave you memories too beautiful to forget. As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.

I've been avoiding writing this for so long simply because I am at a complete loss for words. Papa BC always greeted me with his large, bug-eyed smile as soon as I walked in. He loved me for who I was, a girl that never wore belts :) Nancy-Pants and Chlo-in-the-Dark, you two have one heck of an angel watching over you. And you can bet that your daddy will be right by your side through every step of your life mammy. The day you've dreamed of will come soon enough and I hope you feel the warmth of his butterfly kisses as he leads you down the aisle. You were everything to him. He lived for that beautiful smile of yours and even though he isn't here to smile back, his memory lives on in the depths of your heart and that can never be taken from you. I love the Hendersons with my every bit. Chloe, your smile means more to me than you know- keep it on your face until the day you are reunited with papa. He's waiting for you <3

Just another voice to offer my condolences to his family. I wish you had decades more together. May you feel his love around you
Chuck was a warm and friendly man. I worked with him several years ago but the memory of his smile is as though it was just yesterday.

Dear Nancy and family, although I don't know any of you I cannot but want to mention how good a friend Charlie was to all of us at Married Housing (MSU) back in the mid-seventies. He loved to talk sports non-stop. One of our "special" employees was special to Charlie and we called him "Little Charlie". Larry Walker, Kendall McComb, Jerry Fouts, Ben Twitchell, Phil Everett, Al Tomo, Earl Scott, Frank Vugrin, Duane Switzer...too many friends to remember. But Charlie was in the middle of all the goings-on. The last time I saw Charlie was before his neck surgery...he invited me to a Peckham Christmas party at the South Precinct which I attended with him. So sorry about your (our) loss...

Chuck and I use to hang around together back in our Jr. High days at Dwight Rich along with Virgil Paine and Chuck Dobson and Joe MCcook. Chuck seemed to always have this mischievous grin on his face. We had some wonderful times together that are still in my heart. Even though we both went on with our own lives, I have often thought about Chuck and the great times we had together. My thoughts are with his family at this time, Chuck will be dearly missed.

Nan and Chloe,

Deepest sympathy and love to you two in this hour of sadness and loss.

To Chuckie: To the greatest road trip friend and knower of every word to every song we sang as we made our way home from another Cheap Shot golf league year end outing. Those memories will always be ingrained in my heart and soul. We have missed you tremendously these pass few years as you fought the battle of liver disease but when you could come to the parties, your sense of humor always won over the pain and discomfort. In this new place you are at, your's and Bob F's job is to begin locating a golf course that can tolerate the Cheap Shot golf league so we can all once again enjoy the cheap shots and jokes at each others expense. I'll miss you and love you, but you will never be far from my thoughts.
