Connie Albert Obituary

Connie Jean Albert Born October 5, 1948 in Dyersburg, Tennessee went home to her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. In 1997 Connie fought and beat cancer, and for the next 13 years she lived an active and healthy life until this year when she lost her second battle. She lived most of her life in Lansing and was a 1967 graduate of Eastern High School. Connie enjoyed her flower gardens and was an avid Detroit Pistons fan year round, through good seasons and bad. A member of Trinity Church, Connie and her husband were involved in the Marriage Preparation Ministry. She also loved children and devoted many years to taking care of and rocking babies at home and at Delta Mills Daycare. Connie loved to cook family meals for her loved ones and will always be remembered for her famous chocolate chip cookies. Connie lived her life first and foremost to honor her Lord Jesus. She will be remembered for her love and faithfulness to her husband of 40 years and her selfless devotion to her children and grandchildren who adored her. Connie was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Baker; mother, Juanita Baker; and brother, James Baker. She is survived by her husband, Tom Albert; daughter, Lyndi (Tim) Athy; sons, Tommy, Jonathan, and David; three grandchildren, Calvin, Isabella, and Brendan Athy; sisters, Donna (Steve) Aikin, and Sandra (Dave) Parish; her brothers, Fred (Luvenia Drakey), Harvey (Rose) and Bobby Baker; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Rd, Lansing. Arrangements by Tiffany Funeral Home. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's name to Trinity Church's Deacon's Assistant Fund.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and mother. My family has know Mrs. Connie for about 6 years, during her work at First Nazarene Chilcare Center. There were many days when she rocked my children and took care of them. She always had a caring manner and an encouraging word for either the children or their parents. Her love of God was evident in the way she carried herself and in how she took care of the families and the children that were in her care. She will be missed.

Our condolences,
The Schmitt Family, Brian, Jennifer, Isabel and Garrett
