Delmer Brace Obituary

Delmer W. Brace Lansing Age 87, born December 15, 1922, passed away September 2, 2010 at his home. Delmer was a retired employee for the State of Michigan; a member of the Faith Bible Church; enjoyed woodworking, crafts, farming, gardening, and generously gave away vegetables. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Priscilla; daughters, Elnora (Larry) Petrie of Clyde, OH, and June (Thomas) Fillar of Kalamazoo; son, Robert M. (Esther Bailey) Brace of Eaton Rapids; step-daughters, Diane Zolman of Traverse City and Dawn (Patrick) Hussey of Hampden, ME; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Brace of Dowling, MI; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Audrey; son, James Brace; stepson, Douglas Johnson; and brothers, Elmer and Leon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2010 - 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Bible Church, 5211 W. St. Joseph Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917, with Pastor Gene Harris officiating. Interment at Pioneer Cemetery, Oneida Twp., Eaton Co., MI. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Faith Bible Church or Sparrow Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.

i worked with delmer from 1980 to 81 at grandledge garage mdot. delmer showed me many things about job including snowplowing rest stop maint and road repair. im thankfull for delmer for what he showed me. im still with mdot 30 yrs. later at charlotte mdot. i was just a 19 yr. old punk and delmer with his easy going smile helped show me the way. thanks mr brace jerry de roover
