Denise was a great friend, she had a heart of gold. She was gracious and helpful and tried to teach me how to paint with no luck and she also helped me with my lap top.
I enjoyed every moment that she spent with me.

I met Denise when she asked me to sponsor her in a Direct Sales company. Later she worked for my husband as a secretary. This was the beginning of a lasting friendship. Denise was a special woman who EVERYONE liked to be around. She was such an addition to my life. The highlight of our friendship was when she asked me to help her be baptized. She is now home with her Father!
I keep you in my prayers Morey.

Denise was one of the first people I met when I arrived as a City of Lansing Fire Commissioner. She was a wonderful, full of life person, easy to befriend, and always so happy. I'll miss her spicy beautiful personality and her red hair. We lost a jewel when we lost Denise, but GOD gained an angel. Many blessings to Denise's family. Yvonne Young McConnell, Commisioner

HE planted a seed. Watered & nurtured it; then watched it grow into a beautiful flower. Later after shaping & pruning it. She blossomed into a beautiful radiant Angel. She was fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are HIS works and her soul know it right well.

Denise asked God for eternal life; it was given to her. Denise decided to seek Christ & she found HIM. Denise then knocked & God opened the door unto her, and HE received her as HIS
very own.

My thoughts & prayers go out to the Acker family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Denise. But, I am sure that she will truly be missed.

I became online friends with Denise after repairing her sister's computer years ago. My wife and I will sorely miss her wonderful sense of humor in the jokes she sent almost daily. Our condolances to the family and friends of this wonderful person.

I met Denise last year at painting class. She was a warm and wonderful person. She was so friendly and kind. She took me under her wing as the new person in class and helped me get started. She made me feel so comfortable. We will miss her so much. My heart goes out to her family.

My father met Denise around late '89, before I started my Junior year in high school. Soon after dating they moved into an apartment together and the next year they married. They enjoyed going to St. Ignace and Las Vegas to gamble. Denise was always laughing and loved to paint and create artwork.

Taken in one of our parties.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife and mother Denise. I worked with Denise for many years at UPS. We sat right by each other. I'm sure you heard it many times. She would be talking and all of a sudden turn on her "Southern Accent". She had a unique personality. Morey, Denise thought the world of you. You might not have known it, but she put you on a pedistal. She never had a bad thing to say about you and always had a twinkle in her eye when she talked about you or just got a phone call from you.
My condolences to Morey, Mathew and all the extended Acker family.

Dear Morey & Family:

My deepest sympathies to you. Denise was an amazing woman & a great friend. I had the pleasure of knowing Denise during my tenure with the City of Lansing. She was a vibrant, strong & kind woman. She gave me rides to work when she would see me walking to work. Her passing has left a void in all of our lives. May knowing that she will always be with you in your cherished memories of times together help you through this difficult time. God now has a strong & beautiful angel in heaven watching over us all. I feel truly blessed for having had the pleasure of having Denise in my life.

Dear MaMa,

Without you, there would have been no me. Your love, your attention, your guidance, have made me who I am. Without you, I would have been lost, wandering aimlessly, without direction or purpose. You showed me the way to serve, to accomplish, to persevere. Without you, there would be an empty space I could never fill, no matter how I tried. Instead, because of you, I have joy, contentment, satisfaction and peace. Thank you, mom. I have always loved you and I always will.

Your Loving Son....
