Donald Mahon Obituary

Donald E. Mahon Lansing Age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, September 6, 2009. Donald was born July 7, 1935 in Lansing and was the son of Lawrence and Aletha (Gauier) Mahon. Don worked for the Board of Water and Light as a meter reading Supervisor for 34 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Resurrection. He enjoyed people and would help anyone. Don was an avid collector of unique items, loved his home and remodeling projects. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael (1977) and second wife, Dorothy J. (2006). Surviving are his children, Linda (Jeff) Lugo, Catherine (Roy Lee) Roknich, Patricia Johnson, Thomas Mahon, Pamela (Patrick) Heller, Mark (Debra) Ball, Timothy (Linda) Ball; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; first wife and mother of his children, Barbara Place; sister, Doris West; and faithful friend, Benjamin-his pet cat. Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8pm Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, with Fr. Pancratius Kerketta, presiding. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society of Resurrection Church in memory of Donald.
