Doris Lynn Benschoter Delta Twp. Age 87, passed into eternal life on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Born January 7, 1923 to the late Oscar and Ethel Angle in Sheridan, Montana. Doris left Montana in 1942 to report to the State Department in Washington DC. She met her future husband, Donald Junior Benschoter, in a chance meeting on a train in March 1944. They corresponded and Don proposed at the top of the Washington Monument just before she left to do work in Paris in 1946. They married February 22, 1947 and settled in Lansing where they raised two children. She was a stay at home mother who also volunteered as a secretary for many years at Bretton Woods Convenant Church. She was predeceased by Don in 1994 after 47 years of marriage. Doris is survived by her son John Oscar Benschoter, daughter Dianna Lynn Sweet (Larry). Also left to celebrate her life are her grandchildren, Steven L. Sweet (Angelica), Robert J. Benschoter and Sara E. Benschoter. She is also survived by siblings Don Angle, Keith Angle and Emily Watson. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Palmer Bush Jensen Funeral Home, Delta Chapel at 6020 W. Saginaw in Lansing at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Carter officiating.
