Esther Alvarado Lansing Passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the age of 92. She was born on October 7, 1917 to Francisco and Genoveva De Los Santos in Seguin, Texas. She married Eugene Alvarado in 1940 and they were married 64 years, until his death in December 2004. Esther led a full and joyful life. She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church for 45 years. She loved meeting and working with many different people in food service hospitality at Lansing Community College for 20 years and retired in 1983. Her greatest joy in life was her family in which she dedicated and devoted her entire life for their well being. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed. Esther was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Alvarado, her son, Roy Alvarado, two sisters Loretta De La Garza and Hortencia Cardenas, and brother Ruben De Los Santos. Surviving are two daughters, Mary (Gary) Sova of DeWitt and Linda (Terry) Colby of Bellaire, 5 grandchildren; Cary Alvarado of Jackson, Kevin (Jennifer) Alvarado of DeWitt, Jory (Steve) Lambert of Lake Orion, Jeff (Nancy) Sova of Ann Arbor, and Andrea (Brad) Engler of McCordsville, IN, 8 great-grandchildren, and in-laws Dolores (Evaristo) Rosales, Minnie (Basil) Ybarra; Salvador (Theresa) Alvarado, Angelo (Lennie) Alvarado, Ray (Linda) Alvarado and Nathan (Anita) Klingman and many nephews and nieces. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 102 W. Randolph, Lansing, and followed by interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. with a wake service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, 6020 W. Saginaw Hwy.
