Ethelyn Campbell Obituary

Ethelyn A. Campbell Grand Ledge Age 88, formerly of Lansing, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009. She was born January 11, 1921 in Felch, MI the daughter of John and Anna (Isaacson) Carlson. Prior to marriage, Ethelyn was employed by IBM and she volunteered with the American Red Cross during WWII. She was an elder and longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lansing as well as a longtime member of their choir. She was a member of Walnut Hills Country Club for many years. She volunteered at Sparrow and St. Lawrence hospitals for years and was actively involved with PTA's at her children's schools. Ethelyn is survived by her children: son Thomas (Jamie) Campbell of Coronado, CA and their son, Christopher, son Stephen (Sallie) Campbell of Grand Ledge and their children, Melissa, Timothy (Gianine), Elizabeth (Paulo) and Anna, and daughter Kathleen (Gary) Peterson of Kalamazoo; great-grandson, Liam Campbell; sister, Phyllis (Wayne) Wood; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith A. Campbell and brother Al Carlson. The memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 743 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Lansing, MI 48915. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
