Eva Betts Obituary

Eva A. Betts Cleveland, OH Eva A. Betts formerly of Lansing, age 82, passed away on July 14, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio after a long battle with dementia related illnesses. She was born in Detroit, MI on January 11, 1928, grew up in Carson City, MI and was a resident of Lansing for most of her adult life. Mrs. Betts lived out her last years in Ohio, to be closer to her son. She worked for the Lansing School District, with most of her service as a Secretary at elementary schools and retired in 1990. During her retirement she volunteered for several local organizations including "Lifeline" and "McRee House". Mrs. Betts enjoyed sewing, cooking, square dancing and card playing with friends. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lansing. Mrs. Betts was preceded in death (1993) by her husband, Robert E. Betts. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Lynn) of Ohio; granddaughter, Karen (Brian) Patrick of Ohio; grandson, Brian Betts in the military; great-grandson, Jacob Patrick of Ohio; first cousin, Madeline Kowalski of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. James Lichtenberger presiding. Entombment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Friday, July 16, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in memory of Eva. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.palmerbush.com.
