Ferne R. Olin

Ferne R. Olin Delta Township Born January 13, 1930 in Lansing, MI, passed away August 17, 2009 at the age of 79. Ferne was a graduate of J.W. Sexton High School (1947); retired from Mason Public Schools; member of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Delta Twp.; a former member of the Memorial Lutheran Church of Williamston; and a 4-H Leader in the 60's & 70's. She enjoyed bowling and was especially fond of playing games with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John and their children: Barry (Lori) of Lansing, Marc of Eaton Rapids, Randy (Linda) of Grand Ledge and Karen (Clifford) Harvey of Eaton Rapids, and 9 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ruth (Felzke) Holloway and brother's Ernest and Otto Holloway. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009 - 11:00 a.m. at the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7740 W. St. Joseph Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917, with Pastor Norman Burger and Pastor David Voss officiating. Interment to follow at Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing. The family will begin to receive friends Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge. In lieu of flowers, contributions given to the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church; Parkinson Disease Foundation or the Memorial Lutheran Church, Williamston will be greatly appreciated.
