Francis Bauer Obituary

Francis Arthur Bauer Portland Age 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. He was born on December 1, 1925 in Portland the son of Alfred and Magdelena (Keefer) Bauer. Francis was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a lifetime resident and farmer in Portland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; son, Jerry; second wife Jeanene. Surviving are children Larry (Linda) Bauer of Lansing, Jeanette (Jerry) Quinlan of Kansas, Gary (Rosa) Bauer of New Jersey, Julie (Jonathan) Rice of Minnesota, Joanne (David) Schepers of Kentwood, Laurie (Michael) Tuason of Ohio and Louise Bauer of New York; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 stepchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; siblings Joe Bauer of Florida and Agnes Briggs of Grand Ledge; special friends Mike and Linda Simon of Portland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. A Scriptural wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. For those wishing memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the Ionia Co.
