Frederick "Fred" William Kletke East Lansing Born April 7, 1918 in Lansing, MI, to the late Otto and Frieda Kletke, died December 6, 2012 in Lansing at the age of 94. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School class of 1937-A. On October 29, 1941 he married the love of his life, Lela Martin. They were married at Potter Park Methodist Church where they were members. Fred served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army 38th Division, "Avengers of Bataan". After an Honorable Discharge in November 1945 Fred returned to work in the Stores Dept. MSC. He Retired from the MSU Salvage Department in 1978. He did retain his job as head usher, west upper deck, at Spartan Stadium until 2008. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lela; son, Dan; brother, Edward; and sister, Maxcene Fitch. Surviving to cherish his memory are son, Frederick "Fritz" and his wife Barb; grandchildren, Kelli (Rick) Redman, Kym (Steve Welch) Kletke, Mike (Ashley) Kletke and Daniel Kletke; as well as seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
