Gary Allen Passed away August 8, 2013 at the age of 80. Gary was born in Detroit, MI May 2, 1933, the son of Charles and Mary Louise (Williamston) Allen. He graduated from Shepherd High School. Gary married Saundra Kay Naramor on March 7, 1981. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War for two years than served in the U.S Army Reserves for 33 years retiring from the 123 ARCOM. Gary worked at Fisher Body for 35 years and operated the Allen sharpening Service in Harrison after his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gary is survived by: wife, Saundra Allen of Eaton Rapids; seven children, Heather (Jon) Long of Potterville, Kathryn (Walter) Conley of Charlotte, Gary (Lauri) Spiekhout of Eaton Rapids, Gary W. (Ronda) Allen II of North Carolina, Sonja (Gordon) Herndon of Killeen, TX, Todd Spiekhout of Lansing, and Dawn (David) Lesinski of White Pine, MI; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Charles (Sandra) Allen of Coleman, Maris McCasey of Edmore, Betty Cady of Mason, Judy Coffell of Coldwater Lake, and Carol (Rick) McCune of Edmore, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter-Nikki Long. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday August 11, 2013 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, MI with Chaplain Paul Mai of Grace Hospice officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Saturday, August 10 at the funeral home.
