Gary Lamphere Obituary

Gary L Lamphere Mason Born September 30, 1937 to Celand LeVelle and Maxine Lamphere; Gary L Lamphere died November 13, 2010. Gary was a life-long resident of Mason. He was an owner/operator of Lamphere Brothers Builders. He was involved in Boy Scouts of America and Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Mason City Council, and the First United Methodist Church. He was a loyal fan of M.S.U. women's basketball team. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale D; and sister-in-law Kathleen Lamphere. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy; son LaValle (Mary and their two children Kaitlin and Jonathan Case); and daughter Wendy (Travis) Qualls. He is also survived by his brother Gale G Lamphere; sister Sally (Gary) Kellogg; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mason, 201 E. Ash St., Mason with the Rev. Dwayne Bagley officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason. The family received friends Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. For the length of time we knew Gary he was awsome,so kind and gentle of a person as was all of his talent and perfection as a builder. Gary will surely be missed. He was one of a kind person.
