Gerald R. Ketvirtis Charlotte Gerald R. Ketvirtis, 68, died Friday July 2, 2010 at Sparrow Hospice in Lansing.. Born July 27, 1941 in Newberry, son of the late Charles & Mary (Dubulski) Ketvirtis, Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Newberry High School and attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton. Jerry served in United States Army until his honorable discharge on August 22, 1961. He was employed with the Michigan Department of Transportation for over 20 years until his retirement in 2001. Jerry was a life member of the F.O.E. Aerie #3552 in Charlotte and member of the B.P.O.E. #1705 in Newberry. His hobbies included golfing and sports. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his siblings George, Charles, John, Bill, Elmer, Stan and Berniece. Survivors include his siblings Ron (Gloria) Ketvirtis of Sterling Heights and Mary Ann Ketvirtis of Harbor Springs; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry on Wednesday July 7, 2010 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. Frank Ricca, of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, officiating. Rite of Committal will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry.
