Helen Ganzhorn Obituary

Helen (Fredericks) Ganzhorn Okemos Passed away Monday, September 27, 2010. Helen courageously fought cancer over the past 10 months and throughout her many hospital stays and chemo treatments she retained her special smile and lively personality. Helen had an eventful life, living in Cyprus for several years, as well as in Grand Ledge, Mason, Lansing and settling in Okemos. Helen was an avid reader and gardener; she had a keen interest in the arts and was active in a Knitting Group and Book Club. She graduated from Eastern High School and Michigan State University. Helen's working career included positions with Michigan National Bank, Federal Express, Real Estate and the last 14 yrs. as a Customer Service Rep. with Jackson National Life. Helen was preceded in death by her parents D. Lloyd and Lottie Ganzhorn. She is survived by her sister, Andrea (Robert H.) Rander; her Aunt Mildred Tronvold; nephews, Robert A. (Lori); Andrew (Elizabeth); Peter (Marylin) and Mark (Kerri) Rander; her mom and sister of the last 40 years, Oma Ganzhorn and Linda (Carl) Hicks; many cousins, great nieces, nephews; as well as her friends and associates at Jackson Life who have been very supportive throughout her illness. There will be a Memorial gathering Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Atrium Event Ctr. 2685 Jolly Rd. from 10:00 - 12:00 noon. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.
