James L. Milstein Holt James L. Milstein, born March 19, 1933 to Barney and Helen (Ward) Milstein, passed away November 17, 2013. He was an avid bird watcher and loved Lake Charlevoix, where he was once a lifeguard. James attended Michigan State University and was a huge Spartan fan. He served in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post 0065 in Alpena and of the Disabled American Veterans Thunder Bay #61 Chapter. He worked for and retired from Farm Bureau in Alpena. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Christine Milstein; his children, Tereve Cantu, Cheryl Kitter, Linda (David) Wcisel, and David (Monique) Milstein; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and his brothers, Sam (Patricia) Milstein of Petosky and Robert Milstein of Alpena. Memorial services will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, at Great Lakes Christian Homes, 2050 S. Washington Rd. in Holt, with Chaplain George Stehle officiating.
