Jean Moeller Obituary

Jean Annette Moeller Lansing Born April 21, 1925 in Toledo, OH, Jean Annette Moeller, the daughter of Glola and Clarence Goldnetz, was called to her home in heaven on September 27, 2009 at the age of 84. The loving wife of the late Alfred A. Moeller, Jean leaves to her family a legacy of marriage based on selfless love, finding joy in the world around us, and a strong commitment to family. Her family meant everything to her. She was known as the best cheerleader her children and grandchildren could ever have, supporting all their interests through the years. Jean was a long time member of the Greater Lansing Catholic Community and a volunteer with the St. Rose Circle of the Altar Society of St. Mary Cathedral. After many years of service, Jean retired from Michigan State University as an administrative assistant. She was a loyal M.S.U. fan/supporter, an avid reader and loved music. Jean was a Sweet Adeline's member of the Water Wonderland Chorus. Jean touched every person she met and will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Jeffrey) Fineis of East Lansing; son, William (Nancy) Moeller, of Tipp City, OH; grandchildren, Christina (Robert) Race, Molly (Chad) Frappier, Emily (Scott) Harding, Michael Fineis, and Janie Fineis; great-grandchildren, Katelynne and Megan Race; and brother, James Grant. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, October 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing with the Rev. Mark Inglot officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing and at the church one hour prior to the Mass on Friday. The family wishes to thank the Timber Ridge family of caregivers and Alina and Ashleigh Collar for their tremendous care of Jean, as well as, her dear and special friend, Emily Mugerian. In recognition of her love of education, contributions may be made in Jean's memory to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, 915 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823; Lansing Catholic High School, 501 N. Marshall St, Lansing, MI 48912, or the M.S.U. Department of Neurology, 138 Service Rd, Suite B, East Lansing, MI 48824. Checks are to be written to M.S.U./Bozoki Alzheimer's Research. Now I know...
I haven't seen or spoken to anyone in the family for over 25 years, but for some reason I have been thinking about Jean for the past couple of months. I kept thinking I should contact her, but time always gets in the way. This is a huge lesson we should all learn about time. We need to make time for the important things! I worked with Jean at MSU in the Department of Economics when I started there at the age of 17. She was such a great coworker. Always happy, full of advice, and as mentioned, loved her family. Mary, I have thought of you as well and always wondered what your family grew to be. My sympathies to you all, in hopes that time will heal the pain of loss, and that the great memories you all shared will help with that healing. Take comfort in knowing that your Mom is in a much better place and smiling down on you always. Kelli (Sweet) Hart
