Jimmie Wicker Obituary

Jimmie Rodgers Wicker Beaverton Jimmie Rodgers Wicker, 73, passed away after a short illness, on Friday, September 11, 2009 in Gladwin, Michigan. He was born on March 6, 1936 in Troy, Tennessee to John & Willie Mae (Rodgers) Wicker. He married Margaret "Jean" Halsted on December 8, 1979 in Lansing, Michigan. He was employed at Schlegel Inc., Lansing, Michigan as a truck driver, retiring in 1994. He had lived in Gladwin county for the last 4 years, previously residing in Lansing. He was a member of Charlotte Moose Lodge #2298 and a lifetime member of Charlotte F.O.E. Aerie 3552. He is survived by his wife: Jean Wicker of Beaverton; daughter: Wanda Wicker of Lansing; daughter: Betty Sue (Claude) Ghafari of Eaton Rapids; son: Jimmy Wicker of Lansing; daughter: Carla (Dave) Eno of Lansing; daughter: Kelly (Sean) Larabee of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; brother: John Wicker also of Lansing. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Lindy Wicker; sister: Evelyn LaFever. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at the Charlotte F.O.E. Aerie 3552, Charlotte, Michigan.

Jean, We were sorry to hear about Jimmy, he was a spiecal person and Joe felt such a kinship to him almost like a brother, I wish we could have spent more time together. We have just sold our place at Houghton Lake and bought at Gaylord now. We will see you on Saturday at the Eagles in Charlotte. Joe and Marlene
