John Eldon Mentzer

John Eldon Mentzer Mason Age 79, died June 16, 2010; born 1931 in Mt. Vernon, IN to Basil Mentzer and Virginia (Noon) Mentzer. He was a graduate of Purdue University. John loved the farm and was a master story teller. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Clifton Mentzer. Surviving are his wife, Patricia (West) Mentzer; son, Ray (Susan) Mentzer of Corvallis, OR, daughter, Lynne (Dan Story) Mentzer of Lansing, and son, Paul Mentzer of Phoenix, AZ; 2 step-daughters, Jan Weirauch and Linda (Joe) Pulver; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Chris, Brad, Ben and Nate; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine (Ron) Downs; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mentzer; and nieces and nephews, Virginia, Marilyn, Catherine, Robert, Lorraine and Bruce. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church of Mason, 201 E. Ash St., Mason, MI 48854 with the Rev. Dwayne Bagley officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
