John M. Denniston Hersey John M. Denniston, age 66, passed away Saturday November 17, 2012 in Reed City. He was born September 6, 1946 in Detroit to Alvin Denniston and Anna Cassese and was a 1964 graduate of Clintondale High School. From 1965-69 he honorably served his country in the United States Navy aboard the destroyer USS Holder. He was employed with the State of Michigan for over 20 years and served as president of the Michigan State Employees Association Union from 1985 to 2004. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his family and was well known for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Elaine Denniston of Hersey, daughters Doreen (Michael) Gallevo of Houston, TX and Melissa Denniston of East Lansing, sons Gerald Yerrick of Belleville and Aaron (Mandie) Yerrick of Lake Charles, LA, sisters Barbara (Ben) Malone of Toney, AL, Jo Ann (William) Hutchens and Linda Denniston both of Warren, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 nephews, and 1 niece.
