Joyce Werner Johnson Lansing Joyce Werner Johnson passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was born on January 23, 1929 to the late C. James and Beulah Covert Werner in Belding, Michigan. She was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and lived her entire life in the Lansing area. Joyce married Bruce Johnson on August 3, 1963. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August, 2013. Summers at the cabin up north and, after retirement, winters in Port Aransas, Texas were special to her because of the many friends she made wherever she traveled. Joyce was a founding member of Jug and Mug Ski Club and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughter, Heidi (Steve) Lutz; son Reed (Gail) Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, and Lars; 1 great-grandson, Gavin; brother, Robert Werner; and the Covert cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Blodgett. Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7000 W. Saginaw Hwy, Lansing with Pastor Roger K. Straub officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 3-5 p.m. at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing with interment at Delta Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
