Margaret Decker Obituary

Margaret Decker "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints". Our beloved Margaret, age 80 was called home to the kingdom of heaven on October 5, 2009. Margaret was born in Lansing on October 6, 1928 to Charles and Elsie Decker. She was the 8th of 12 children and cherished the large family gatherings. Margaret was a homemaker, a child-care provider and well known for her homemade pies, cakes, and bread. She has been an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for 22 years. Margaret had a heart like no other, and our family is taking solace in knowing she is in the arms of God. She is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Margaret is survived by her sister Rosemary Stokkers and her 61 nieces and nephews who affectionately call her "our second Mom". Services for Margaret will be held at 10:00 a.m.. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour, Lansing. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Capitol Area Humane Society, Sparrow Hospice of Lansing, or the Angel House of Mason. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com.
