Marilyn Koster Obituary

Marilyn J. Koster Portland Age 80, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009. She was born on August 27, 1929 in Grand Rapids the daughter of James and Gladys (McGinness) Sherman. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Lake Odessa and enjoyed music, and eating all kinds of sweets. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia; husband William "Bill" Koster in 2006. Surviving are her step son, Scott (Shawn) Koster; step grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Cecelia Koster; aunt, Genevieve McGinness; cousins, Roberta (Pat) Hobbs, Harv (Eleanor) Van Dam, Judy (Mike) Keefe, Jim McGinness, Sandy Haflick, and Rosemary Nelson; sisters-in-law, Monica (Fred) Sanders, Marie Reynolds, Arlene Koster, and Connie Koster; special friend, Erma Beattie. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Lake Odessa, MI with Rev. Victor Kynam celebrating. The Rite of Committal to be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia, MI. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. The family would like to thank the Hospice House of Mid Michigan and Tendercare West of Lansing for all of their care. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Tendercare West of Lansing or to St. Edward Catholic Church, Lake Odessa, MI in memory of Marilyn J. Koster. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com

I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to get to know Marilyn here at Tendercare West. Thank you so much for letting us care for your loved one. She was loved here and will be missed.
