Marjorie Haviland Obituary

Marjorie Louise Haviland Haslett Born August 4, 1924; Marjorie Louise Haviland died September 28, 2009 at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late Ernst and Dorothy Bogert. Marjorie was the Victory Queen for the City of Lansing in 1946 following WWII. She also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Shindiggers Square Dance Club, as well as a life member of the Meridian Garden Club and a member of the Club 20 Ladies Group. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard "Dick" Haviland. She is also survived by her daughters, Lori (John) Kelley, and Jody (Warren) Kimble both of Haslett; sons, James (Sherry McNally) Haviland of Mt. Morris and Richard C. (Lisa) Haviland of Haslett; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Brown (Myron) of East Lansing. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing with the Rev. Stephen Ezop officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan /Great Lakes Chapter, 310 N. Main, Suite 100, Chelsea, MI 48118, or to Heartland Hospice, 865 Cedar St, Mason, MI 48854 in memory of Marjorie. Online condolences may be made at www.gorslineruncimanfuneralhomes.com

The Highifill family, Mary, Glenn, Tom and Barabara all knew Marge as one of the most sweet and kind ladies we've ever known. she will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with the Haviland family for peace in this time of loss.
