Martha Elaine Spencer

Martha Elaine Spencer Lansing Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and GG, born November 5, 1919 to Robert and Flossie Kennedy, passed away peacefully, at the age of 89, on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in Ft. Myers, FL. She was a lifelong resident of Lansing, MI until recent years. She became a snowbird spending her winters in Indiana and Florida. She was a member of Lansing South Church of the Nazarene and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She is survived by a family she loved so much including three sons, Thom (Janet) Spencer of Jackson, MI, Jack (Mary) Spencer of Bloomington, IN and Ted Spencer of Ft. Myers, FL; 16 grandchildren; 43 great- and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Forrest Wayne Spencer; son, James Spencer; daughter, Carolyn Rill; great-granddaughter, Carolyn Merrill; brother, Robert Kennedy; and sisters, Cora Booth, Betty Dietz, Ethel Orr, Polly McCaslin and Lucille Greenburg. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Lansing South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI with the Rev. Dr. Harold M. DeMott officiating. Visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
