Mary Ebert Obituary
Mary E. Ebert St. Johns Age 74, born May 23, 1935, to parents Vincent and Anna Coe, in Lansing, MI, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009. St. Johns After a courageous battle with cancer, God saw she was getting tired and said, "Come with me." God broke our hearts to take you. He only takes the best. Mary grew up on a farm in Shiawassee County and graduated from St. Paul High School in Owosso in 1952. After graduation she was employed by General Telephone Co. in Owosso. Mary returned to her career, to retire from Greenstone Farm Credit Services after 26 years of service. She and Roy J. Ebert were married November 8, 1958, at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Laingsburg. She and Roy spent most of their married life in St. Johns, where they were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceeded her in death in 2004. Also preceeding her in death was her brother, Edward James Coe and her parents. Surviving are her children; Dr. Patrick (Kristin) Ebert of Haslett, Lori A. (Stephen) Thompson of Cincinnati; granchildren, Ben, Katie, Paige, and Will; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Joanne Ebert of DeWitt, John Q. and Nicky Ebert of Okemos, Thomas and Tonia Wynell Ebert of Inman, SC; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. In retirement Mary enjoyed her trips to Ireland, visiting and spending time with family, and attending the Grandchildren's many activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns with the Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Isidore Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Laingsburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 Monday with a Vigil Service being held at 7 p.m. Monday at Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice, 1011 S.
