Michelle,
I am so sorry to hear this. I have been out of town and have just been catching up.
The last time I saw her was at your wedding and the picture of you with your Mom and Amber was a great one.
Love you,
M. Maier

Mary Lou best friends forever. From going all through school together since when we were little kids to raising our 11 kids together, best friends forever.
Michelle, Shawn, Todd, Tammy and April, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a wonderful person from her smile, her awesome giggle, great personality to always having a great time no matter what we were doing, and no matter how many years or miles that we were apart. She was truly an amazing person that you couldn't help but love! I wish I could have been there for you all. If there is anything that I can do for any of you please let me know. I will miss you Mary Lou!

Mary Lou will be greatly missed at MSU. She seemed to have the answer to every question, big or small, and she always gave it with a smile. I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to work with her.

I'm very sorry for the passing of your mother and grandmother. Mary Lou and I had some good times while she lived on Edson Street across from my dad, your Uncle Raymond. She has left a void that will be hard to fill.

Mary Lou and I shared a love of Chinese food and a good mystery novel. She was very caring and had a heart of gold. She spoke often of her children who she loved very much. She was a colleague I will truly miss.

Mary Lou will be greatly missed, she made me enjoy going to the mail room near her office as her door was always open and she always had a friendly smile and warm hello, we had many nice conversations over the years. She was a steady presence in the field office, someone I always thought would be there with her consistent kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

I am so sad to hear of Mary Lou's passing. She was a friend and support to me when I was a doctoral student at MSU. Her sense of humor and practical assistance was priceless to me during some of the most stressful years of my life. My thoughts are with her family during the days and months ahead.

I regularly stopped by Mary Lou's office to chat and connect over our mutual struggles with COPD. I will miss her warm smile, her caring soul and her strength.
Because of my teaching schedule and other commitments I will not be able to attend her services, but Mary Lou and her family will be on my mind and in my heart. In warm remembrance of a kind and gentle person...

Prayers and best wishes to all in Mary Lou’s family at this very sad time. I was one of Mary Lou’s assigned faculty members during her early years at MSU and I always considered myself fortunate to have someone like her watching out for me. Her friendliness and cheerfulness constituted one of the "constants" of life on second floor Baker. I could always count on her for a kind word and a concerned question about how I was feeling, sleeping, and/or eating. Her absence will leave a huge hole in the emotional fabric of life in the School.

In passing many are those who come forth to offer words of warmth and kindness to describe the deceased. For Mary Lou the words of warmth and kindness we might offer in her passing was also true of her in life.
