Nellie Richards Obituary

Nellie Richards Delton Nellie Anne Haskell Richards died October 4, 2009 after a long illness. She was born in Bell Oak, Michigan on January 23, 1918. Nellie lived with her husband, Clare Richards, in Michigan before his work took them to Colombia SA, Trinidad WI and Liberia Africa. They retired in Delton after living several years in Lansing. She was a member of Bernard Historical Society and Inland Lakes Garden Club. She loved to play bridge and travel with her daughter. She is survived by daughter, Anne Richards; grandchildren, Todd and Jody Collins; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Burch. Her husband, grandson John Collins and three sisters preceded her in death. A family memorial will be held later. Donations may be made Bernard Historical Society. Nellie Richards was such a dear and devoted friend to Esther Bernard, who died on Dec. 20, 2008. We deeply appreciated her care and thoughtfulness of Esther. We offer our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to Nellie's family and friends. May she rest in peace and may her family feel God's blessings every moment. Sr. Constance Fifelski and all of us here at St. Ambrose Church in Delton.

Nellie’s warm, loving heart, and unfailing good humor made her a joy to be around. Anne, her children, and grandchildren have my deepest sympathy. Nellie will, most definitely, be missed.
