A Lifelong Memory of Dan:
My fondest memory of Dan was his love to teach those who he loved, which was pretty much everyone that he knew. The things in life that he cherished most: hunting, fishing, soccer and swimming were always a constant connection to those who were closest to him. I remember Dan driving Cheri, Pat and I to soccer on weekends from the time we were small up through middle school. He was always ready to help us learn and love soccer by playing "coach" after our games on the drive home. When Pat was in high school on the swim team, Dan always was showing his encouragement (and always the loudest one cheering). When Dan met Adina, I remember going to a soccer game where they were both playing. I don't think Adina had played soccer before or had a clue what was going on, and any grown man could have just told her to sit on the sidelines. Instead, Dan wanted her to learn and took the time to help her, because he loved her and wanted her to be a part of something he loved so much. He was teaching Monique and Danielle to fish and about hunting, and passing a part of himself onto them. His love and spirit will live on forever by those who knew him. I am forever blessed to have known him for so long, and having him as a second dad has taught me so much. I am so proud of his beautiful family, and I know that they will keep his spirit and memory alive always. I love you Jacksons. Stay strong and when you miss Dan, think of his giant smile.

I have a Dan story: Dan and I worked together during the summer of '82 harvesting cherries at our grandfather's orchard. On my 21st birthday we had worked all day and were so tired we could hardly stand up. Grandma slipped us $20 and told us to go have fun. So Dan, myself and our cousin Jay hopped in Dan's ragtop Cadillac, got a case of beer and drove out to Lake Michigan where we dropped the top and swapped lies and told fishing stories under the stars until the beer ran out. I couldn't have had a better birthday, and I loved working with Danny that summer. We had as much fun as you can have working 14 hour days, covered in cherry juice and scratches from crawling under those cherry trees. I miss you cuz. See you topside.

Adina & Family-
I just heard the horrible news about Dan today, and I am so sorry for all of you! I apologize for not being at the funeral in person, I absolutely would have been there if I would have known about it. I will miss Dan's friendship and sharing hunting stories every fall during Deer hunting season. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to learn of Dan's passing. I met Dan in 1991 when, upon my graduation from MSU, my father suggested I "find a good State Farm Agent". Dan was so kind and caring it's easy to see why all these years later, he's still my favorite agent. I'll miss Dan but think of him fondly whenever I hear Queen. My sincerest condolences to his wife and children

WOW! I am so sorry for all of you who will miss him! He has been with me every day giving me courage. I would like each of you to remember that mischeivious grin and all his pranks. He is playing jokes on you!.... & laughing. What a great laugh! What a great smile!
I am asking you to PLEASE share your memories.. Here is one I have:
He was maybe 8 or 9. We were up at our cottage. We went out snake hunting before church (WE WERE READY to go) Dan catches a snake, Mom & Dad are coming in the car to pick us up on the back road. He is so excited! Going to show that snake to Dad. Mom & Dad talk him into letting the snake go 'cuz we do not have time to put it in a cage for "snake stew" BEFORE church. He drops the snake and dang if that snake hadn't wrapped his tail around Dan's belt! It's hanging between his legs and he is hopping around "AHHH, AGHH! AHHHH " . Our eyes were so big and finally it fell off him... We have laughed about it for years. MY love to all!

I remember how much Dan loved to eat my snickerdoodle cookies. He always seemed to have a sixth sense when I was baking them. He would come over to our house often when he was a teen ager.
