Your father was a friend of my Dad's (Maurice C. Baker) in Gulf Shores and I met him down there. What a true gentleman he was. Please accept my sympathies.

I enjoyed coffee with your dad and Tony Balice every morning after I started with the State in 1970. One day my mother showed me a newspaper story about her brother's drowning, which was right after his graduation. It was Pat who found him during his first week with the State Police. When I told Pat (it was over 30 years later) he said it was the hardest day he ever had on the job. We remained friends for many years and I always enjoyed talking to him when we ran into each other (the last time was after golf in Alabama a few years back). What a wonderful father and person Pat was. Enjoy all the great memories. My prayers and thoughts are with you. P.S. Tony Balice became my father-in-law just 4 years ago (14 years after his death) but I know he enjoys seeing his daughter and me so happy.

To Pat's Children,
I was your Dad's secretary way back at the Highway Department. He was very, very good to me. He was the last person I ever took shorthand from! He was very proud of both of you. When I became visually impaired, he took me to my first eye appt. to receive special visual aids in Flint, MI. I have thought of him often over the past years and wondered where he was hanging out! He was a very special man. Also, I knew your Mom at the highway department. I worked for Pat when they retred in 1983. Your Mom was a sweetheart. Take care and know that, though you already know, you had very special parents.
