My condolences to Shirley and the Haas family. I know family came first for Pete and he was so proud of his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren.
Pete was absolutely my father Tony Maran's best friend, a colleague during their years in the Mt. Pleasant schools and always a confidant and lifelong pal.
I can't think of anyone with a more positive attitude toward life as Pete. He and my dad were proudly "Old School", hard working, loyal to their wives and families, happy to help and support anyone in need. Oh yes, eager to share a joke and a laugh. I know Pete touched so many lives in a most positive way as a school administrator. Kids, parents, teachers, custodians, student teachers. It's hard to even try to estimate what a great influence he has had on so many!
I will always have the fondest memories of Pete and want to thank the Haas family for sharing him with my dad for all of these years.
