Ralph Guthrie Obituary

Ralph (Guff) V. Guthrie Jr. Dear Family and Friends, this is Guff. If you are reading this, my journey that started with my birth on May 26, 1928, unexpectedly altered 37 years ago with my motorcycle accident, has come to an end. I passed on with my girls by my side at home on April 16, 2010. I will miss all of you, but what I will miss the most is holding Mary's hand, my wife of 66 years and the rock of our wonderful family. Surviving me are Mary, our children Judy (Bob) Richards, Ralph Guthrie III, Mike Guthrie, Linda (Brad) Smutz, Tom (Debbie) Guthrie, Valerie (Brian) Robosson, 24 grand children, 41 great grand children, 10 great-great grand children, my sisters Dorothy Hiner, Willa Phinas, Evelyn (Norm) Zerfus, many nieces and nephews, daughter in-laws Beverly Guthrie, Kathy Guthrie, Linda Guthrie and former son in-law Robert Sillaway. I was also blessed with more friends than any man deserves. I have asked that my family and friends gather to celebrate my life and what would have been my 82nd birthday. I don't want a funeral, I want everyone to get together and share some stories, maybe shed a tear, and raise a glass to my life and theirs and most important, have a good laugh together. We have made arrangements for a private room and buffet at Buddies, 2040 North Aurelius Road, Holt, MI at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010. The family is looking forward to seeing you there for a bite to eat, a slide show that I actually helped put together, and plenty of hugs to go around. Love, Guff (aka Dad, Uncle Guff, Grampie)
