Ray Blank Obituary

Ray M. Blank Leslie Passed away at home under the loving care of his family and hospice on Thursday, October 28, 2010. He was born May 24, 1926, in Rives Township, Michigan, the son of Ira and Blanche (Behm) Blank. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Laura (Woodman); daughters, Valerie (Carl) Meirndorf and Marcia (Eugene) Kral; granddaughter, Laurie Meirndorf; grandson, Fred Meirndorf; brother, Arthur (Loretta) Blank; sister, Ann (Jerry) Hartley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rosella Mutz French, Laurene Parsons, Iris Griffin and Lottie Taylor. Ray graduated from the Leslie High School in 1944. He also served in the U.S. Army in Greenland; was a Boy Scout Master; Master of Masonic Lodge in Leslie; past treasurer of the Leslie School Board. Ray retired from the U.S. Post Office in Onondaga as a rural mail carrier and was also an electrical contractor. According to Ray's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service remembering Ray's life will be held at the J.C. Adams Funeral Home, Leslie Chapel, on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Bigg officiating. A memorial dove release will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice or Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.

Mom, Val, Marcia and Family. I am so sorry to hear of Dad's passing. I know what you are going thru, Val and Marcia. My prayers are with you and the memories will last forever. We had fun. I love you always. My heart goes out to you. Take care of Mom, she will need you more than ever. She has lost the love of her life. I'm sorry I can't be with you. I just found out this afternoon. Laura, Val and family, So sorry t hear about Ray's passing. He was truly an amazing person and I loved our chats. His smile was infectious and always lit up the room. May his memories brighten your day and his peace bring the same to you. Sorry I can't make it to visitation but you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear of Ray's passing. We always looked forward to the Country Buffet and seeing you folks there. We haven't gone down to Florida for 3 years, but we are this year. We will be keeping you in our prayers in the days ahead.

Laura, Val and Marcia and families, I am SO sorry to hear about Uncle Ray. I adored him as he was one of thee most kindest men I have ever known. I feel blessed to have known him and the rest of the family. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you at this time. Mt prayers will be with you as well. God Bless all of you!
