We worked with Ray at Munson Hospice House, often relieving him on Wednesday afternoons. Ray was so dedicated that he and Chet took the bus to Hospice House and home again. Sometimes, that meant waiting two or three hours for the next connection, easily turning a four-hour shift into an all-day commitment. Ray always did it without a complaint. Last time we saw Ray was at Volunteer Night at the Beach Bums game last June--sat next to him and had a nice conversation about hospice volunteering and his life in northern Michigan. Turns out we had some mutual connections, too. Volunteer Night at Wuerful Stadium is tomorrow. Though we won't see him, he'll be with us in spirit. We will miss Ray and think of him with a smile.

Ron and I worked with Ray at the Food Pantry in Onekama at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Since we were also teachers...much of our conversations were about education...we will miss his wonderful smile and positive attitude. Ron and Tina Hall
