Now that I am gone, I have these things to say.
Tell my friends I loved them, each in a special way.
Tell my daughters that I'm sorry, and I'll see them again someday.
Tell them that I love them.
Tell them not to cry.
Tell them I'll miss them.
Tell them I said good-bye.
All the things I felt, you will never even know.
I had so much love inside, that I'll never get to show.

My husband, Alec, and I became great friends with Rick and Merete during the year that we lived in Billund in the mid-90s. Alec started out playing basketball with Rick and we soon started spending much of our free time together. I have so many wonderful memories of Rick - his love (and talent) for cooking and design, his smile, his easy laugh. We deeply enjoyed our time with him and are so saddened by this loss.

Rick and I worked together in LEGOs development department for a number of years. He was a warm, friendly, "get up and go" kind of guy with a good sense of humor. I am happy to have known Rick, and am very sad that he is no longer around. My thoughts go out to his family.

Dear Ricks family.I have only known Rick a few years, when he came to Fanø with Tina. He struck me as a very friendly and warm person, and i and my husband will miss him.my thoughts go to you his parents. I know by experience ,what you are going through. I lost my son very suddenly 2 years ago.so try to find comfort

Rarely do you meet people so warm and friendly as Rick. I was new at LEGO when we first met but Rick was always there for me when I needed his help. His warm and humorous personality was second to none and I am deeply touched by his passing. Rick, you will never be forgotten.

I remember playing pickle and I-Spy growing up with the gang on Tuscany Lane. It is an honor for me to have known Rick and his family. I am deeply saddened by his passing and will keep the family in my prayers.

Rick was one of the boys from the hood. I grew up going to school,playing sports and getting into alittle trouble at times. He always seemed at ease with everything. Its like it got it(Life).My prayers to you Rick and your family.

I have known Rick since he joined LEGO and for the last year Rick and I have been working closely together designing technology products. It has been quite an adventure and we have reached very far. Rick was not only a highly skilled designer but also a very warm person and a great dad - I will miss him a lot.

Hanging out with him at the USA MINDSTORMS events was very fun for me and I looked forward to seeing him at each meeting we attended. He was a big reason I took these vacations to stop and play. My condolences and Thank you to Rick's Family and Friends!

I'm very sorry to hear of this. While I only met Rick one time, I had a wonderful time with him, talking into the late evening, and just hanging out. He was an amazingly creative person, but one you could relate to instantly. He will be sorely missed. To his family... I'm terribly sorry. There's nothing I can say to make any of this better, but please know that Rick was loved by an awful lot of people.

Dear Ricks family in usa and in dk. I just read about the sad about Rick. I can´t find words which fit and will help but I think of Christine and Caroline which I know though me job in Nørup, dk. Rick was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of spending time with him at various conventions he attended for LEGO. I am one of the LEGO fan community that is very involved with Mindstorms. Rick brought an energy into the room with him that made you want to think big. His attitude and creativity will be missed by all. It was quite a shock when I got the phone call that Rick had died yesterday.
It is not long ago we had dinner with friends, we had already made plans for a night out when he came back to Denmark from USA.
I first met Rick 10 years ago when I worked with him at LEGO, since then we remained in contact.
No matter what mood I was in before I would always leave a conversation with Rick, with a smile and a laugh. His energy was contageous.
I hope you will find some consolation in the fact that I share your grief and sadness.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rick for over 25 years and was blessed to be able to call him a good friend.
