Rita Bernita Bertram Delta Twp. Born July 26, 1922 in Fowler, MI the daughter of the late Arnold and Therese (Fink) Bertram, passed away Saturday, Sept 11, 2010 at age 88. Rita graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She later retired as an Executive Secretary for General Motors after nearly 40 years. She battled severe health problems most of her life. She was well known for her crocheting skills. She had her own christmas design for doilies. She was especially proud of an article written in 1994 in the Lansing State Journal for her Clown Crafting skills that were hand crocheted. She was very supportive as a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Spitzley. Surviving is her brother, Alfred Bertram, her special care-giver and nephew, Bill Bertram, and many other loving nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00a.m. at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. Rite of committal will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler at 3:00p.m. Visitation is Monday 2-4 and 6-8p.m. at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 3:30p.m and 7:30p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday at 10:00a.m. at the church. Memorials can be made to Right to Life of Michigan or St. Gerard Church.
